About the
'What is ‘Coproduction’?' Course
As the second instalment in the ‘Recovery’ series, this course is designed to challenge your preconceptions and clarify the concept of ‘Co-production’. It delves into its critical role in Recovery, both for individuals and at the group/organisational level. The course is crafted by and for a diverse audience including students, carers, staff, volunteers, partners, and the general public.
Throughout the course, you will gain insights into the essence of coproduction, its defining characteristics, and its significance. The curriculum includes an exploration of the ‘Ladder of Participation’, practical examples of coproduced care/projects, and guidance on initiating co-productive endeavours.
The course material is derived from a comprehensive, coproduced document titled ‘What do we mean we talk about Recovery?’. This document, which serves as a practical toolkit, is a direct outcome of the collaborative discussions that shaped the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s new ‘Recovery Strategic Framework 2021-26’. This framework is a strategic plan outlining the Trust’s approach to Recovery over the forthcoming five years.
This course is the second in a trilogy focusing on Recovery. It is strongly recommended that you complete the first course, ‘What is ‘Recovery’?’, before starting this one. This recommendation is based on the fact that fundamental concepts and terminology used in this course are introduced and explained in the first course.
