CNWL Recovery & Wellbeing College

Central & North West London Recovery and Wellbeing College (CNWL) is one of the largest Recovery Colleges in the United Kingdom and provides recovery courses.

About the CNWL Recovery & Wellbeing College:

The CNWL Recovery College is a shared space which supports people to recognise and develop their talents and resources in order to become experts in their own self-care and do the things they want to in life beyond mental health services.

CNWL’s range of educational courses, workshops and resources are free to people who use CNWL services, their supporters including friends, family or carers and CNWL staff. They are also free for people who have been discharged from our services within the last 12 months.

CNWL aims to create a society & space where people with mental health or physical health difficulties have access to the same opportunities in life as everyone else.

Whatever your mental health diagnosis, CNWL Recovery College will help provide you with the tools you need to manage your mental health challenges using tools like WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan).

The CNWL Recovery College provides a range of courses and here’s a list of some of the courses that are being run over the next few months:

  • Understanding and managing feelings and relationships
  • Developing resilience
  • Beating mental health discrimination and stigma
  • How to manage disclosing our mental health or other conditions to employers
  • Telling my story
  • Introduction to mindfulness
  • Managing anxiety in uncertain times

Our students include current and former CNWL service users, their carers and supporters and CNWL staff.

Our courses and workshops are all co-developed and co-delivered by people with lived experience of recovery alongside people who have clinical or health professional experience. They cover a range of subjects relating to mental health, physical health and wellbeing.

At the moment we are delivering online workshops via Zoom with a rolling six to eight-week timetable.

The current prospectus and timetable are available to download here: https://www.cnwl.nhs.uk/services/recovery-and-wellbeing-college/courses-and-workshops.
