Solent Recovery College
About the Solent Recovery College:
Whether you use mental health services in Portsmouth or support someone who does, the Solent Recovery College can help you become an expert in managing mental health and empower you to take control of your recovery journey.
Taught in a classroom setting and now online via Zoom, students can learn practical skills for living with on-going symptoms and learn how to get the best from mental health services in a safe and confidential space. Our courses aren’t therapy; they’re an opportunity to learn new skills in an educational environment.
All of our sessions are designed in partnership between Solent Mind’s Peer Trainers, Adult Mental Health staff from Solent NHS Trust and with support of the University of Portsmouth, allowing those with lived experience of a mental health issue to share their experiences and skills side by side with mental health professionals.
Who is it for?
We also welcome those who are supporting someone else, as a loved one, a carer, a social worker or any other kind of healthcare professional.
Following the launch of our specialist courses for veterans, we are pleased to welcome Veterans and the families of serving personnel who live in Portsmouth, Gosport or Fareham.
