Recovery Barriers for Asian and Afro-Caribbean Women in the UK
Purpose of the Project:
- Research explores recovery from substance use disorders among ethnic groups of Afro-Caribbean and Asian women in the UK.
- Aims to understand their lived experiences in recovery and factors contributing to sustaining recovery.
- Aims to provide culturally optimised support and contribute to a better understanding of recovery among ethnic women in the UK.
Participation Information:
- Participation involves completing an online assessment followed by an interview of 45 minutes online.
- Confidentiality is protected, and a pseudonym is assigned.
Reason for Invitation to Participate:
- To contribute to a better understanding of recovery for women with substance use disorders and supporting the development of tailored interventions.

Confidentiality and Data Use:
- Data will be used for academic outputs such as conference presentations and journal articles.
- Data will be anonymised and stored safely, with the University of Derby acting as the Data Controller.
- What you say will be kept confidential, and your personal information will not be recorded.
